Last updated: July 2026 · JWP Builders · Keilor, Victoria
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of building, renovation, carpentry, and maintenance services by JWP Builders ("we", "us", "our") to clients ("you") in the Melbourne north-west region.
By accepting a quote or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before work commences.
2. Quotes & Estimates
All quotes provided by JWP Builders are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.
- Quotes are based on information provided by the client at the time of assessment.
- Quotes do not constitute a binding contract until accepted in writing by both parties.
- Any variations to the agreed scope of work may affect the quoted price and will be communicated to you before proceeding.
- Verbal estimates are indicative only and are not binding.
If unforeseen work is discovered once a job has commenced (e.g. hidden water damage, structural issues), we will notify you promptly and provide a variation quote before continuing.
3. Deposits & Payment
The following payment terms apply unless otherwise agreed in your written quote:
- A deposit of up to 30% of the total quoted price may be required before work commences, to cover materials and scheduling.
- Progress payments may be required at agreed milestones for larger projects.
- Final payment is due upon practical completion of the work.
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue unless otherwise agreed.
- Overdue accounts may incur a late payment fee and work may be suspended until payment is received.
Accepted payment methods include bank transfer (EFT). Details will be provided on your invoice.
4. Scheduling & Access
- Start dates are estimated and may be subject to change due to weather, material availability, or prior job delays.
- The client agrees to provide safe and reasonable access to the work site at agreed times.
- Any delays caused by the client (including failure to make decisions, supply materials, or provide access) may result in rescheduling and additional charges.
- We reserve the right to suspend work if site conditions are deemed unsafe.
5. Warranties & Defects
JWP Builders takes pride in the quality of our workmanship. The following warranty terms apply:
- We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on all work completed by JWP Builders, commencing from the date of practical completion.
- Materials and products supplied by us are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, alterations by third parties, or normal wear and tear.
- Warranty claims must be made in writing within the warranty period.
If you have a concern about completed work, please contact us promptly. We are committed to resolving any genuine defects quickly and fairly.
6. Cancellations & Changes
- If you need to cancel or postpone a job, please give us as much notice as possible.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before a scheduled start may result in a cancellation fee to cover lost time and materials already ordered.
- Deposits are non-refundable where materials have already been purchased or work has commenced.
- Changes to the agreed scope of work must be approved in writing by both parties before proceeding.
7. Client Responsibilities
To help us complete your job efficiently and safely, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the site and scope of work at the time of quoting.
- Ensure the work area is clear and accessible prior to the scheduled start date.
- Inform us of any known hazards, asbestos, underground services, or other site conditions.
- Make timely decisions when required to avoid delays to the project.
- Ensure all necessary council permits or approvals are in place where required (we can advise on this).
8. Disputes
We are committed to resolving any concerns professionally and promptly.
- In the first instance, please contact us directly to discuss any issues: 0415 627 895 or info@jwpbuilders.com.au
- If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, either party may refer the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria or the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
